Just ask

Just ask

If you have kids of your own or have spent any significant amount of time around small children, you’re probably already aware that they ask “why?” a lot!

It’s sort of to be expected as it’s a phase they all go through. It can be a real pain, but it’s smart too because every time they ask “why”, assuming as they are answered, they learn from it.

Kids aren’t scared to look stupid they just ask away.

We could learn a lot from them.

Take dating, for example, many people end up going on dates but never get a callback.

They sit and wonder why…

Did they do or say something wrong?

Who knows? But one thing is for sure, they’ll never know if they don’t ask why.

Now let’s take hiring managers in the Technology space.

Have you ever wondered why you lost out on a top candidate? Why did they reject your offer and go to one of your competitors instead?

Did you ever actually ask, why?

Finding out why a candidate has said no to you and learning from your mistakes could be crucial in your firm’s future growth and success.

Giving you the opportunity to tweak your hiring process and better your offer for next time. While you’re here…
