How to get the best from your staff
With the vast majority of people working from home at the moment, it’s important to give your staff time to adjust…
Here are some ways you can support your team at this time; Be patient. Now is not the time to be setting strict deadlines or applying pressure.
Check-in. Set up webchats, remember these don’t always have to be ‘business-related’ or formal. Ask about their kids, the dog or what Netflix series they’re binge-watching. Try avoiding the ‘C-word’ Send positive messages. You don’t need to bombard them with 2 hour-long TED talks, but the odd cat video, funny meme or Tony Robbins clip may help lift their mood.
Take this time to get your staff trained up. Giving staff online training to do may also help them focus on something positive for the future when things get back to normal and will no doubt help you when your team has new skills to bring forward.
Let others take responsibility for web meetings. They might not be done exactly as you want, but it will give them responsibility and keep in them on their toes.
