How can you make the best of a bad situation (like what’s going on right now) in the Technology industry?

1) Get your facts straight - Distance yourself from mainstream media, go directly to the sources like your local health board, local government and get your information directly from the source - Start looking towards experts who present FACTS not clickbait headlines that only lead to fear and panic.

2) Need vs Greed - Make sure you’ve got enough supplies for your 14 day isolation period (i.e you don’t need 10 packs of toilet paper)

3) Give not Take - If you’re well and able to, volunteer for those who are in self-isolation, or do what you can to bring humanity back to the situation.

4) Physical, not Emotional - Create physical distance, not emotional distance, stay in touch with friends and family like you usually would but go through online channels.

5) Reset and Revamp - In times like this it’s important to re-evaluate how things are done in your life, are there any changes you’ve been meaning to make to your lifestyle? Take time to reflect and make some productive changes where you can.

6) Focus and push on - Support, guide and lead your team during this time. They need you to be focused, optimistic and making decisions with certainty right now. In other words, ‘keep your head in the game.’

And remember as hard as this gets, it will all be over at some point.

This week I will be helping Hiring managers put together a plan on how to move forward and push their business through this time of uncertainty if you’d like my help to send me a message with the word ‘plan’ to book a call with us.
