The big fat lie
When was the last time you told a little white lie?
You know the ones…
“I’m leaving in 5 minutes.”
“Yes, I did notice that the top was new. It looks good.”
“Of course I remembered it’s our anniversary.”
“Yes, Santa is real.”
Those types of lies.
These remind me of a lot of candidates who lie on their CV’s…
Thinking its ‘just a little white lie’…
They lie about things like gaps in their CV, years of experience and how long they were at their last company…
In this day and age when a recruiter can do thorough checks. This is far bigger than a little white lie. It can and will lose them the role they want.
But only IF they are found out. A good recruiter will find out the truth about the candidate BEFORE they end up putting them forward.
As a hiring manager if you’re stuck in a pattern of hiring poor talent…
Always picking up the workload your team can’t stay on top of…
Never properly being able to end the skill shortage in your team.
You end up spending all your time working IN the business rather than ON the business.
So the question is, do you have a recruiter on board who ONLY puts through appropriate, skilled, top talent. Or do you end up hiring poor candidates put forward by your recruiter?
